You will need to decide whether you are able to have a large or small dog. If you live in a small apartment then a large breed of dog may not be ideal. If you are home a lot and are able to provide a large dog plenty of exercise then you may be able to get away with living in an apartment. It is important to remember that the larger the dog the more expensive it will be to feed him. Flea and tick treatments will also cost more for large dogs. Small dogs may be less expensive to take care of in terms of food and healthcare prevention.
